Second Empire State Building Piece, 38 minutes

Working from the ground floor upwards I telephone someone on each floor of the Empire State Building each time asking 'Hi, can you tell me which floor you're based on please?". The varied responses and many different accents build together a delicate sound structure of the iconic building.

Still, 34 minutes

In Still people unknown to me are telephoned in each of the world’s consecutive time zones. 32 calls are made and each person who answers the phone is asked where they are located and what the local time is. The work begins at 10.10 am in Samoa and ends at 12am in The Christmas Islands. Through a simple telephone enquiry, over the course of 34 minutes and 15 seconds the piece expands and contracts time whilst circumnavigating the globe.
